Samsung had just come out with the "Galaxy S8," which is the current top Android smartphone in the market. Huawei also came out with a new flagship called the "Huawei P10," which doesn't quite measure up against Samsung's latest flagship, but still offers great specs.

According to a report from Android Headlines, the "P10" has a smaller screen size at only 5.1-inch, compared to the "Galaxy S8's" 5.8-inch display. Huawei's flagship also only sport an IPS LCD FHD display, compared to Samsung's QHD display, giving the edge to the Korean-based company.

Both handsets, though have 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage (the "Huawei P10" has a cheaper 32GB storage variant), and powerful processors. Samsung is using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor and its own Exynos 8895 octa-core processor to power the "Galaxy S8," while Huawei is using the equally powerful 64-bit Hisilicon Kirin 960 octa-core model.

The report said that both smartphone devices also have great camera, with the "Huawei P10" sporting two lenses at the back, a 12-megapixel sensor that shoots monochrome black and white photos and a 20-megapixel sensor for colored photos, while the "Samsung Galaxy S8" improved the already great 12-megapixel camera of the "S7." Both devices sport 8-megapixel front camera.

Huawei's flagship has a larger battery, sporting a 3,200mAh battery to Samsung's 3,000mAh. Both offers quick charging but the "Galaxy S8" also offers wireless charging and its battery life lasts longer to give it an edge.

The longer battery life and wireless charging also make the "Galaxy S8" a good smartphone for people who are always traveling. A longer battery life means not having to worry about the device powering down while in transit, while wireless charging means bulky wires won't be a problem in hand carry luggage. As for their design, the "P10" looks more like an "iPhone 7," while the "Galaxy S8" offers a unique design, creating a phone that is very different from its predecessor.

Blorge reports that the "Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus" is also on almost equal footing with the "Huawei P10 Plus," with Samsung's flagship edging the "P10 Plus" when it comes to screen display and the Huawei's flagship besting the "Galaxy S8 Plus" with its dual lens camera at the back.

Overall, it seems both of Samsung's flagship variants edges Huawei's own flagship, especially when it comes to battery life and display performance. But the Chinese-manufacturer provided great specs for its "P10" to make it attractive to would-be consumers. Check out the video for more comparison about the "Samsung Galaxy S8" and the "Huawei P10."
