Sony's PlayStation 4 is one of the most popular gaming consoles in the market today, as it's currently dominating the console market. But it's not only popular with gamers, as cockroaches are also using the PS4 as its own hotel building because it's dark and hot inside.

Kotaku reports that they first heard of the PS4 roach problem from an independent console repair shop in New York called XCubicle. The co-founder of the shop, Patrick Che, mentions that roaches are one of the common problems they experience with game consoles, mainly the PS4.

Che said that at least one roach infested console are coming into their shop for repairs each week, which they are charging $25 for it. The report adds that other repairmen are saying at least half of the PS4 they repair are loaded with roaches.

The reason these game consoles are inviting to roaches is because they are usually kept in dark or enclosed areas. Xbox One gets their fair share of roach infestation as well but repairmen mostly get PS4 because there are more of them out there.

The report said that independent console repairmen also mentioned that the PS4 has more to offer as a hotel for cockroaches. The console's ventilation grates are wider and are located at the bottom of the console, meaning it will be easier for roaches to get in.

The PS4 also gets hotter inside than the Xbox One, due to the console's internal power supply. A warm and dark enclosed space that's close to the ground is an ideal home for cockroaches. The problem is compounded even more as Business Insider reports that Sony is not interested in repairing roach infested PS4s.

A PS4 user tweeted a picture of the packing and shipping checklist that Sony sent him when they returned his broken PS4 back. The photo showed that insect infested consoles should not be shipped to the company.

The report said that the only thing PS4 users can do is to go to third-party repair store like Che's XCubicle to get their consoles fixed. Check out the video below for more information on why cockroaches love PS4 and how to fix them.
