The moment "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" title has been released fans have been wondering whether the word Jedi is a singular or plural term. Recently, director of the film, Rian Johnson spilled the beans on the film's title. He has also teased who The Last Jedi refers to.

Johnson, in an interview with Good Morning America, has said, "It's so funny when people started asking that when the title was announced" he further adds, "...because I had never even pondered that question." He continues, "That seems like, to me, the most, like - uninteresting, I guess. In my mind, it's singular," reported BGR.

But Johnson's reply is vague in nature. He has not clearly confirmed if the term Jedi is singular. Before the trailer release, some other languages translations suggested that it is a plural term. But the recent comment from Johnson almost clears the air.

The next question that is hanging loosely is about who is this "Last Jedi"? Is it Daisy Ridley's Rey or Mark Hamill's Luke? When the interviewer asked Johnson if Luke is the one, Johnson did tell something. He said, "Well if you say so." As per the director, in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" Luke is the one to find the temple of jedi "...and Luke is the last Jedi," he said, as per aforementioned source.

Meanwhile, at the Star Wars Celebration event, Hamill shared his thoughts to the fans. He said that he was disappointed that characters Han Solo and Luke Skywalker have been never reunited in the new trilogy, reported The Independent. The website reports that Hamill has even teased some details about his role to his fans at the event.

Character Han dies at the hands of Kylo Ren in "Episode 7" film. After killing him Ren feels no sense of empowerment, something he initially expects to happen. The second installment of the "Star Wars" trilogy has the same cast from "The Force Awakens." The new cast additions include Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran as Rose.
