"Sonic Mania" is supposed to be launched this spring but it was delayed until summer. Those who pre-ordered the game at Amazon received an email that the possible launch will happen on September 4, to be specific.

Fans of "Sonic Mania" now have a better idea when their most awaited game will be available. They see that the new release date is actually making a lot of sense. In the announcement posted on Amazon, it said that the game's publisher informed them of a new release date information for the "Sonic Mania." The online retailer also made it specific that the September 4 date was just an estimated time. Technically, the actual release date might be earlier or later than the date indicated.

Initially, the classic Sega Genesis game "Sonic Mania" is slated to arrive in spring of 2017. However, last month, the game was moved to a very vague summer release window. Currently, the developer informed the players of a September release, says Gaming Bolt.

The highly anticipated game is developed by Pagoda West games and Head Cannon in partnership with Sega and Christian Whitehead. "Sonic Mania" will feature reimagined classics mixed with the latest zones for players to experience. Apart from that, the upcoming game will introduce a diversity of levels. Players will have access to three characters sending nostalgia to older generation players. Available in the upcoming game is, of course, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, according to WWG.

In the same vein with 15-bit Genesis games, it is made to be a new, retro style 2D Sonic platformer. This will be released for the Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and for PC as well.

For those who have been waiting for the game's release, let us just hope that the developers are doing the very best to release a game that will surpass more than the fans have hoped for. Although they have not revealed the reason for the delay, it is apparent that improvements are being made and maybe more finishing and polishing touches.
