Episode 2 of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" didn't live up to the expectation that the opening episode has set, with repetitive dialogues and inferior plot directions. Meanwhile, the creator of "Naruto," Masashi Kishimoto, introduced the new anime to U.S. fans.

According to a report from ComicBook, Viz Media uploaded a YouTube video of Kishimoto thanking new and old fans for their support of the "Naruto" series. He then gave a short introduction about the new anime series.

"Thank you to everybody for reading and supporting manga," Kishimoto said. "I'm really excited about the 'Boruto' manga and anime coming to the U.S!"

He adds that he hopes fans will also enjoy the "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" anime series, which showcases the next generations of ninja in "Naruto." The report said that though Kishimoto is not a director or director artist for the new anime, he is still an important part of it.

The illustrator creates character designs and storylines for the series that the other artists follow. The report adds that fans are hoping Kishimoto might pop up for an episode or two of the anime series.

Speaking of episodes, "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 2 recently aired and it somehow disappointed viewers following an explosive opener, according to IGN. The episode was quieter, showcasing The Academy that Boruto and his friends are attending.

The Academy is much different than the ones fans are used to in "Naruto," as the classrooms provide students with more than just training and learning ninjutsu. The episode is more about Boruto's first day in The Academy, where everyone is just gossiping about him for being the son of Naruto, the seventh Hokage.

The report said that the common phrase that will be heard throughout the episode is how Boruto is riding the coattails of his father. Boruto didn't care much about that, as the only thing that got his attention was another student beating him in the ninja time trial.

The student is named Iwabe and is a bully, which meant he and Boruto had to cross paths in the episode and he did. The report said that the anime tried to portray Boruto as a hero by standing up to the bully, only the fight ended too quickly that nothing felt resolved.

Though "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 2 disappointed, the anime series still has a lot of potentials. Fans are hoping that the next episodes would fare much better. Check out the trailer for episode 3 of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" in the video below.
