The "Sony Xperia X" units have just received some new updates and one of them is the Sony Audio Effects Engine that will be used for the MusicFX app. The company also updated the units' battery indicator for better readability and more.

According to a report from GSMArena, the latest update arrives as version 38.1.A.0.91 and the Sony Audio Effects Engine is its main added feature. The new feature is something that the company is trying out with "Sony Xperia X" units, which is Sony's concept for the android program.

The report said that Sony's official change-log indicates that the feature is "a nice new mix of SONY's Audio Effects Engine and Google's integrated MusicFX app." What this means is that the MusicFX app will just be relying on Sony's audio engine, Gizbot reports.

The app used to rely on the proprietary Android audio effects, but this new update will change all that. Aside from the audio engine, the new update also made changes to the "Sony Xperia X's" battery indicator.

The latest update will make the battery percentage indicator visible outside the status bar icon of the device. This new feature will make it easier for people who own units of the "Xperia X" to know how much battery life their smartphone has.

GSMArena reported that Sony also updated the VoWifi support of the device in Germany for Vodafone, O2, and Telekom, in Norway for Telenor, and the Hutch (3) in Denmark and Sweden. Telenor in Norway and Hutch (3) in Sweden and Denmark also gets its VoLTE updated.

Gizbot said that the Bluetooth restart problem, as well as the graphical bag for the camera app shortcuts of the Sony "Xperia X" units, is also given fixes in the latest update. Check out the review for the Sony "Xperia X" in the video below.
