"Nintendo Entertainment System" of "NES" is hailed as the best-selling console of its time. The legendary device helped to revitalize the video game industry in the US following the 1983 video game recession. The device became the stepping stone for games like "Super Mario Bros." which is now one of the bestselling games of all time. There is no denying that the legacy of "NES" in the gaming industry is priceless, that's why Nintendo revived the product with the "Nintendo NES Classic Mini."

The new version of the hit gaming hardware is a minimized replica of the original device released in 1985. The device is upgraded with the modern standards where it can be connected to TVs or monitors using the HDMI port. It also comes with the iconic retro "NES" pad as controllers that can be attached to Wii remote controllers to play Virtual Console "NES" games on a Wii U or Wii systems.

According to Daily Star, the device will come with 30 built-in games including the "NES" classic favorites like "Super Mario Bros.," "Donkey Kong," "Metroid," "The Legend of Zelda," "PAC-MAN" and "Kirby's Adventure." As for saving the games, the "Nintendo NES Classic Mini" sports a suspend point system so players can start where they left off in the future. The system will not need any passwords unlike the original hardware.

There's a current shortage of the mini version's stock after its comeback in November last year. Hours shortly after its release, Nintendo has already sold 200, 000 units in the US and within the day, the shelves have gone empty as reported by Tapscape. "We apologize to our consumers and retail partners for the inconvenience caused by product shortages," said Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima.

While waiting for additional supplies, fans can enjoy themselves in Funstock's "NES/Famicom: A Visual Compendium." It is a book containing 500 pages of pixel art, over a hundred of game reviews and many others.

Hopefully, Nintendo will do something about the product shortage of "Nintendo NES Classic Mini." Meanwhile, fans can indulge themselves into the latest and innovative console of Nintendo, "Nintendo Switch."
