It's not an exaggeration to state that "One Punch Man" took the world by storm when it aired its season 1. The webcomic first appeared in 2009 and became an instant hit, and when it was adapted into an anime, it became a worldwide phenomenon. Now, it seems that another hit series has taken note of its popularity and gave a nod to the hero Saitama.

Comic Book reports that the longest-running animated show "The Simpsons" is jumping on the superhero bandwagon. The show, known for its witty commentary on social issues and pop culture has referenced the Caped Baldy in its comic book series.

In the comic book panel, characters Bart and Milhouse are seen on a street surrounded by their friends and classmates. Even though they are dressed in some pretty detailed superhero costumes. Some eagle-eyed "One Punch Man" fans pointed out the character at the background. Dressed in a yellow tracksuit with red boots, red gloves and a cape, the bald extra is clearly a nod to Saitama.

It's not the first time that "The Simpsons" has shown an anime. There were instances when they referred to Sailor Moon, Astroboy and Pokemon in the past.

Meanwhile, Geek reports on the speculations of season 2 of the much-loved series. While the exact date of the return of Saitama is still up for debate, the site says that the episodes for the season are apparently already in production. Many fans are hoping that the arc for this season will include the character of Garou, who is said to be the most formidable for that Saitama has faced as of yet.

There's also the status of Saitama at the Hero Association, where he is yet to gain the respect he deserves. Who do you want to see Saitama fight in the season 2 of "One Punch Man?" Share your thoughts and comments below.
