Jackson Avery takes center stage in the latest episode of "Grey's Anatomy." What started out as a simple trip to perform a surgery turned emotional, and he had the presence of an unlikely friend to help him.

TV Line reports April Kepner, his ex-wife accompanies him on the trip. Sarah Drew, who plays Kepner, has said that from the beginning of the episode, things are already tense between the two. They both know that this was not a vacation, but Jackson is unreasonable when it comes to her. She eventually finds out that it has something to do with his father.

Entertainment Weekly recaps the episode entitled "Who is He (And What is He To You)?" The episode begins with Jackson being informed by his mother that Grey, who was supposed to accompany him in Montana for a surgery, cannot come due to Zola. April instead comes, and Jackson is not happy.

More so when they get to the hospital, where they find out that they have to be the ones to tell the donor Brian's dad Eric that their son was going to die and his organs will be used for the transplant. It does not go well, but Jackson was able to appeal to him, relating how his own son died and he tried to look for a meaning in his son's death.

The surgery was a success but not before complications. Brian's organs were actually not viable, and they were left to figuring out another way to save both the life and voice of the girl. Aside from this, Jackson found his biological father and had a confrontation with him.

April proved to be important as she convinced Jackson to talk to his dad. The former couple actually had a good time after the operation that they proceeded to have sex.
