After all the hardships that the production of the live-action movie adaptation of "Tokyo Ghoul" have endured, the movie was finally given a release date. The movie suffered some setbacks when the lead actress Fumika Shimizu suddenly announced her retirement in the industry. Hardcore fans are worried regarding the casting problem. Fortunately, the crew managed to recover and the movie is now on its way to theaters.

According to Arama Japan, the filmmakers stayed silent regarding Shimizu's retirement to join a Tokyo-based religious group. They only mentioned the incident as a series of news related to the cast and her name is still credited on the official website. They only apologized to the fans for the long wait the problem caused and at the same time released new visuals containing the release date for the highly-anticipated film.

In the new visual, we can see Masataka Kubota holding the iconic eye patch-mask of Kaneki Ken which he will portray. He is known as Light Yagami in the drama series based on the anime "Death Note" where he gained some awards for his excellent performance. The visual is an upgrade version of the original photo where the July 29 Roadshow text as the latest addition.

Aside from the award-winning actor, the film has an impressive line-up working on it including the critically acclaimed director Kentaro Hagiwara to helm the film as reported by Comic Book. Kaneki's mask was designed by Masanori Morikawa that which nailed the details for the iconic costume. Even though the staff met some difficulties early on, they assured the fans that they will deliver the original message of the anime.

In other reports, an accident revealed the filmmaker's early plans to make a sequel even though the first movie is not yet released. An article in Japa's Daily Sport claimed that a sequel is now being developed. The article says that Shimizu is in the talks for a second movie but, as we all know, it will be impossible as the actress have already retired.
