There are lots of talks surrounding the hit manga and anime series "Tokyo Ghoul". There is an upcoming live-action film which is currently on production and a season 3 that is subject to numerous rumors. The manga version of the franchise is steadily garnering sales at an amazing rate to the point that it is a recurring title on the monthly top 20 adult graphic novel chart of Book Scan.

According to Anime News Network, Shueisha announced last Thursday that Sui Ishida's hit manga series will have 22 million of copies in print in the 15th issue of the Weekly Young Jump. These copies will consist of the first volumes of the original series together with the sequel titled "Tokyo Ghoul:re".

The San Francisco-based anime-manga entertainment company, Viz Media currently holds the licensing deal for the hit series. They have already published the past volumes of the manga from June 2015 up to February 2017. Viz Media is presently planning to continue the release of the English versions of the manga starting off with the "Tokyo Ghoul" Volumes 12, 13 and 14 on April 18, June 20 and August 15 respectively.

Ishida's manga series was serialized in the Japanese weekly magazine, Young Jump under Shueisha from 2011 to 2014. He is now working on with "Tokyo Ghoul:re" where the series in currently in its ninth volume with tenth coming this March 17.

In other reports, the live-action adaptation film of the series has hit a road block when the lead actress Fumika Shimizu retired from show business as reported by Cruchyroll. Shimizu took the role of Touka Kirishima, the heroine of the series before her sudden retirement to enter priesthood in a Tokyo-based religious group.

Ishida posted an amazing illustration featuring Shimizu's character Touka with words saying "I trust your message." Ishida didn't mention if this artwork is meant for the actress but instead retweeted a post from a journalist about being judgmental of people. The 24-year-old Anna Ishibashi will be taking the role left by Shimizu and the film is set to release on July 29, 2017.
