Many were surprised when "Longmire" was canceled by A&E after its season 3. It's a good thing that Netflix picked up the series, but the streaming service has recently announced that season 6 would be the last.

With the filming for the last season set to begin this month, many are wondering just how the series will end its six-season run. Mstars News speculates that season 6 will offer something completely new to its loyal viewers.

Carter Matt says the same thing, as it seems that this is the perfect time for the show to go into new territories. The site says that the show can present a satisfying conclusion to the story of Walt Longmire, which is based on the books written by Craig Johnson. While it can still follow the plot of the book, the writers can actually get creative with how the show will go, now that it is nearing the end of its airing.

Many are of course anticipating that the series finale will present a potential romance between Walt and Vic. While there have been some hints in the past seasons, there is still no development and loyal viewers hope that with "Longmire" season 6 being the last, there would finally be a romantic moment between the two.

To recap what happened in the season finale, Walt ends his relationship with Donna. He learns that he will most likely be suspended from his post and needs to get the evidence of the prosecution.

He learns from Tucker Bagget himself that the prosecution is unfounded and that he merely wanted Walt to sell his land to Baggett so that he can build a luxury resort. Meanwhile, Henry gets kidnapped by Malachi and his henchmen, then taken to a Crow reservation, where he is staked and left for dead.
