Carrie Fisher's untimely death posed huge problems for the current trilogy of the "Star Wars" series. Fortunately, the upcoming film, "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is currently in its post-production stage and Fisher have finished her shots on the movie. However, the final installment of the trilogy will have to suffer some changes.

One of the hottest topics today in the internet is how will Disney and Lucasfilm will deal with the loss of Fisher. Her character will play a huge role in "Star Wars Episode IX" as General Leia Organa, the founding General of the Resistance. Good thing, there are lots of options for the film makers to cope up with Fisher's absence.

One way to eliminate Leia from the equation is to give her a less active role for the movie as reported by MStar News. It means that her character will still be alive and will be mentioned a few times however she will not have any appearances. Another way is to use other unused scenes from previous installments.

There is also the CGI techniques to make a digital rendition of General Leia like what the "Fast and the Furious" filmmakers have done to cope up with the loss of Paul Walker. This method is not new for the franchise as Peter Cushing was digitally rendered in the spin-off movie "Rogue One". However, According to Collider, Lucasfilm has no plans of using CGI methods to digitally recreate Carrie Fisher. Cushing's CGI recreation earned some harsh remarks saying that it created a lot of controversies about ethics which probably halted Lucasfilm from going this direction.

Some reports claimed that Lucasfilm is conducting some reshoots that will takes place on Edinburgh, Scotland which is said to be a tribute for Fisher and her role will end on "Star Wars: The Last Jedi". However, nothing is set on stone and considering that her son, Kylo Ren is the one making all troubles in the galaxy, General Leia is far from finished.
