Google has now declared war on trolls. In a partnership with Jigsaw and Google's Counter Abuse Technology Team, they released a new piece of code called Perspective. This technology is an  API that gives any developer access to the anti-harassment tools.

This project has been worked by Jigsaw over a year, according to Wired. Perspective uses machine learning to automatically detect insults, harassment, and abusive speech appears online.

So how it works? By entering a sentence into its interface, its AI can immediately show its an assessment of the phrase's "toxicity," which gives more accurate result than any keyword blacklist. Jigsaw added that it is faster than any human moderator.

The Perspective release could bring Conversation AI a step closer to its goal of helping to foster troll-free discussion online. Aside from that, it also aims to filter out the abusive comments that silence vulnerable voices.

Perspective has an ability to scan online content and it can rate how "toxic" the content is. The rate or the grade is based on ratings by thousands of people.

The toxic score helps people decide whether they want to participate in the conversation, according to Jigsaw President Jared Cohen. The publishers will find this tool useful to monitor their comment boards, SMH reports.

This is not the first aim of Google to make the internet a peaceful place. In a previous report, the tech company has released a tool that helps users to fact check or stories that appear on its search engine. The tool is dubbed as Fact Check Tag.

This tool has been launched in three more countries and has been introduced weeks before presidential election voting. Fact Check Tag is featured in its new section. With that, readers can determine whether the article is true or not.
