The Hollywood continues to be involved and vigilant regarding President Donald Trump's recent policy changes. The latest of which is his rollback in terms of the federal protection law for transgender students enacted during former President Barack Obama's term.

Under the administration of Obama, the federal law does not allow any kind of sexual discrimination in schools including those that are related to gender identity. But according to Trump's new letter to schools, he is tracking back on the guidelines for bathroom use. Unfortunately, he does not provide an alternative to the law which leaves transgender students susceptible to bullying of any kind in their schools.

Many Hollywood A-listers have decided to open up and be their voices heard regarding Trump's latest move. Host and Medal of Freedom awardee, Ellen DeGeneres, took it to her official Twitter account to criticize the administration's actions. DeGeneres who is married to actress Portia De Rossi pointed out that "this isn't about politics" but more " about human rights, and it's not okay."

Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner and is a trans-woman, was also blunt calling Trump's decision to be "a disaster." The Olympic gold medalist even asked the President to call her so they can talk about this development.

Last year's Academy Award Best Actress Winner, Brie Larson, on the other hand, was a bit blunter in her tweet regarding the development. "This is disgusting. This is unacceptable. I #StandWithGavin and every Trans person who deserve nothing less than protection and equality," she wrote.

Like Larson, N'Sync former member, Lance Bass, also lashed out at the current White House administration. Meanwhile, instead of lambasting Trump, Chris Evans took it to his social media to express his solidarity with the LGBT community saying that not everyone supports the "message" behind Trump's move.

James Esseks, the director of the American Civil Liberties Union's LGBT project director, released a statement regarding the lifting of the law the protects transgenders in bathroom schools. "Revoking the guidance shows that the president's promise to protect LGBT rights was just empty rhetoric," he explained. "But the bottom line is that this does not undo legal protections for trans students, and school districts can and must continue to protect them and all students from discrimination", Esseks added.
