Adele was in all smiles during the 95th Grammy Awards after she won the Album of the Year, and it seems she has plenty of reasons to smile as 2016 proved to be one of the most lucrative years of her career. According to financial reports obtained by the British press, the singer had reportedly earned up to US$620,600 per night during the first few months of her 2016 tour.

The "Rolling in the Deep" singer earned so much in 2016 that she has now joined the ranks of some of the highest paid performers in history, such as Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, and The Rolling Stones. The multiple time Grammy winning singer's 2016 tour spanned across the United States and Europe. According to The Sun, a source close to Adele stated that the singer could still have managed to rake in a considerable amount of cash for the rest of her tour, which lasted from February to December 2016.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the "Hello" singer had a total of over 100 performances across the United States and Europe. The source said the financial data only accounts until April, when she was only just a few months into her tour. "Adele was selling out arena after arena very night so her income would definitely have shot up at the same rate throughout the rest of the year", the source added.

Adele made history last week after she won 5 Grammy Awards including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance. She now has a total of 15 Grammy Awards to her name. Adele is currently preparing to embark on an 11-date Australian tour which will begin on February 28 in Perth.

In the summer she will be scheduled to headline London's Wembly Stadium for four nights. While Adele's earnings from her 2016 tour are quite impressive, the record of the highest earning performer of all time still belongs to Madonna who made more than $4.7 million per night during her "Sticky and Sweet" Tour in 2008.
