"Anpanman" is a Japanese picture book series which was written by Takashi Yanase. This made its run from 1973 to 2013 following his death. The series has been adapted into an anime series which was entitled "Soreike! Anpanman" or "Let's Go! Anpanman". This is one of the most popular anime series among young children in Japan which follows an adventure of Anpanman, a superhero with an anpan or a bean jam-filled pastry for a head which aimed to protect the world from all evil particularly an anthropomorphic germ called Baikinman.

It was on July 2 the previous year when "Anpanman" series premiered a new story. It was the 28th and newest film in the anime franchise which has a title of "Soreike! Anpanman Omocha no Hoshi no Nanda to Runda" or "Let's Go! Anpanman: Nanda and Runda of the Toy Star" which had opened in Japan then.

The late creator of the series, Yanase, has a song entitled "Yuki no Runda" (Brave Runda) which had served as a motif for the film. The song was currently used in various musical shows at the Anpanman Children's Museum across Japan. The character names of the film even came from the key phrase of the song, Anime News Network reported.

Meanwhile, according to Crunchyroll, this upcoming July this year, the Japanese children's superhero is flying back to the big screen. This will be a film which will feature him teaming up with a cowardly lion in finding a long lost treasure. The upcoming film will be entitled, "Soreike! Anpanman: Burburu no Takarasagashi Daibouken! ("Let's Go! Anpanman: Buruburu's Big Treasure Hunt Adventure).

The anime series aimed to promote the creator's message of being brave and to do one's best for the sake of someone else rather than for oneself. This film also had featured sing and dance songs that included "Anpanman Taiso" and "Anpanman March".
