"Riverdale" is a series based on the characters in the "Archie" comics. But it presents itself as darker and edgier than the comics it was based on.

In its first episode "Riverdale" presented the main characters, albeit a little different from their namesakes. Archie is in a relationship with his teacher Ms. Grundy, and is no longer friends with Jughead. Betty and Veronica are on their way to being good friends, although many are expecting that to end with the conflict of the well-known love triangle with Archie. And underlying it all is the mystery of the death of Jason Blossom, twin brother of Cherry Blossom.

Warning. The following contains spoilers in the latest episode of "Riverdale." Do not proceed it you have not watched.

Episode 2 is entitled " Chapter Two: A Touch of Evil" and it starts with reminding the audience of the death of Jason. It opens with Archie feeling guilty about not coming clean about the gunshot he heard that night. He tries to get to talk to Betty, who is still avoiding him, so he ends up at Ms. Grundy's house. She insists that he cannot tell anyone about the night they had sex, as there will be repercussions.

Betty's friendship with Veronica was on the rocks after the latter kissed Archie in the closet. Vulture reports that she tried to make it up to Betty by giving her yellow roses and cupcakes. But after Veronica angers her again by telling Betty that it's not her fault that Archie does not like her, Betty decides to be friends with Cheryl. But that does not go well either as Cheryl just wanted to ask Betty questions about her sister Polly, who she thinks killed Jason after he dumped her.

When Jughead discovers the affair between Archie and his music teacher, he tells his friend to tell the authorities what he knows, because Ms. Grundy just wants to protect herself. But before he could do so, the sheriff and Mr. Weatherbee take Cheryl into custody. TV Line Jason's twin sister did not seem surprised and even says "I'm guilty."
