Cave House in Worcestershire

Britain has a 21st-century cave house in the form of Rockhouse Retreat. The place is a one-of-a-kind cave retreat hand sculpted from a Triassic sandstone escarpment on the banks of Honey Brook adjacent to Bewdley and The Wyre Forest in Worcestershire. It is a secluded place nestled in three acres of private woodland. The place has been occupied for over 750 years. It was abandoned in 1962 however; it was refurbished in 2015 by cave house aficionado and owner Angelo Mastropietro.

The Rockhouse Retreat has been sensibly planned out and showcases stylish comforts such as under floor heating and rain forest-like shower. In addition, it has ingenious ambient lighting for a nurturing and natural atmosphere. It is also filled with homely cave features such as two wood burning stoves and three ovens electric range cooker. Alachigh, Ger, and lavvu, Carmarthen

Larkhill Tipis and Yurts is an award winning campsite, established in 2003. It is settled in a discreet location and has remarkable views of the Welsh countryside. It is located on the edge of woodland on a 20 acres smallholding in West Wales. The accommodation is one-of-a-kind and a fantastic glampsite for winter adventure. It is comprised of an alachigh or the Iranian nomad tent, a Mongolian ger, a Sami lavvu, a Kazakh yurt and a Native American tipi. Each contains a central wood burner. Each accommodation is parted by trees and shrubs and has a campfire. In addition, there are two hot showers, a compost loo, and a flushing toilet.
