New York City is experiencing a winter storm, but that did not stop actress Drew Barrymore from taking a flight to LA so she could attend the 74th annual Golden Globe Awards. But, she made sure that she spends quality time with her kids first.

The 41-year-old actress, who slipped into a silver Monique Lhuillier gown, looked stunning and there was no trace that she had to endure a snowstorm. According to E! News, Barrymore traveled to LA at the last minute because she chose to spend time with daughters Olive, 4, and Frankie, 2.

"I have a job to do but I chose to be a parent first and I swear to God the priorities paid off!" The actress told Ryan Seacrest during a red carpet interview that she was able to play in the snow with her kids all day and got on a JetBlue flight which took her to LA.

Barrymore said that she loves being on the Golden Globes red carpet, People reported. This year's awards night will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon and will air on NBC from the Beverly Hilton Hotel's Grand Ballroom on Jan. 8 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
