Aside from the graphical differences and a number of gameplay mechanics, “Dragon Quest XI” will also have varied musical scores as confirmed by the creators. This will provide more difference in overall experience, warranting the need to get the game for both platforms for long-time fans of one of the longest running RPG franchise in the history.

According to a recent report from Siliconera, “Dragon Quest XI” musical composer Koichi Sugiyama have confirmed something about the music on both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS platforms. He said in an interview with NintendoEverything that while two games from different platforms will have the same themes, the arrangements will be different.

In the same interview, Sugiyama also commented about his past work with the first entry in the series. He stated that he came up with the main theme no more than five minutes and was also put under a very crammed schedule of a week before he finishes all the other soundtracks.

Fans were overjoyed when Square-Enix finally announced “Dragon Quest XI” last year as it will be able to cater to both console and hand-held gamers alike. However, the glaring gap between the platform versions is to bridged by the upcoming Nintendo Switch.

This was also a good move from Square-Enix and Nintendo's end as according to a recent report from Forbes. The previous game was released on the Wii U and this gave the almost dying console a renewed life at the moment. Other publishers followed suit as “Dragon Quest” franchise is seriously big in Japan.

Releasing “Dragon Quest XI” on the Switch serves its mutual purpose of exposing Nintendo's upcoming console and reaching out to console gamers who aren't ready to embrace the limitations of a hand-held platform as it treats hand-held gamers with TV console quality experience, while still being able to play on the go.
