"Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization" was first released in Japan on the 27th of October 2017. Just recently Bandai Namco Entertainment released its introduction video for the "Fighters of the Blue Sky" update on Tuesday, and the said update already launched in Japan on the same day.

According to Anime News Network, the update has added characters Rain and Seven from the game "Sword Art Online: Lost Song." It has also added new maps, scenarios, and player-versus-player feature. The "Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization" also has its max level cap increased to 80, and it also added a pillow talk event with Premiere.

Players also gained the ability to copy skills pallets between weapons. In addition, its minor update includes gallery mode, and skills and experience adjustments. The introduction video also featured on Tuesday the "Maiden of Abyss" paid downloadable content. The downloadable content includes three new episodes for 1,000 yen (9 USD). There is also a Season Pass which also includes the "Maiden of Abyss" for 2,500 yen (21 USD), and in addition the Season Pass purchasers will also receive an in-game wedding dress costume.

There is also a Premium Edition that bundles the games Season Pass, and "Maiden of Abyss" downloadable content in PlayStation 4 version for 9,700 yen (83 USD). The PlayStation Vita's Premium Edition is sold for 8,600 yen (73 USD). Purchasers of the Premium Edition will also receive the wedding dress costume, maid outfit, and also an original theme. The three-episode downloadable content is scheduled to be released in Japan on 2017.

On the other hand, both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions are available in regular and limited editions. The limited edition includes a box art illustrated by abec, a soundtrack CD, a Blu-ray Disc with special contents, and a special case for the Blu-Ray Disc and CD.

In addition, a "Dengeki Nerve Gear Volume 4" pamphlet, and mini clear posters will also be included. There are more expected updates to be released this coming 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita version of "Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization."
