Taylor Swift has died according to Twitter. Messages are starting to spread around the social media site saying that the young country singer is dead, however this is just another Twitter death hoax. Taylor Swift is just fine.

On Tuesday evening, several Twitter accounts started passing around a message claiming that Swift died in a car accident. This is just a rumor. Swift is alive and well.

The message "R.I.P. Taylor Swift. The popstar had a car accident some hours ago" was tweeted by the user @TMZ_Nevvs. Since TMZ is usually a reliable celebrity news source, people are starting to believe the rumor is true, however this isn't the real TMZ Twitter account. It is a parody account that is spreading the false rumor about Swift dying. Another pardoy account of CNN is saying that Swift died in her home. This is also false.

Demi Lovato and Katy Perry are also tweeting messages about the death saying "R.I.P. Taylor Swift. Seems like part of me has gone with her. I'll always love you my fiend! :'( ." Both singers posted the same message, but they are not from the actual singers. They are being posted by parody accounts @ddlovafto and @KafylPerry. Both of these accounts look exactly like the real Twitter accounts of Demi Lovato and Katy Perry as they use the same icons and background images, but these accounts that are tweeting the false rumor about Swift's death are both fake themselves.

Taylor Swift is alive and well. Let's put this rumor to rest before it gets out of hand. Not too many are falling for the hoax yet, but there are some Twitter users who are a bit confused.

Examples of some tweets being written include:

"Is Taylor Swift really dead?? I might die if she is.."

"TAYLOR SWIFT DIED !?!?!"

"R.I.P Taylor Swift"

This isn't the first time that Swift has been the target of a social media death hoax. Another fake Twitter account attempted to kill the singer just a few weeks ago.

Taylor Swift is currently dating Conor Kennedy. She did just release a song called "Ronan," which she wrote for a four year old boy who lost his battle with cancer and she performed it at the Stand Up To Cancer benefit. She did just perform at MTV's Video Music Awards. She's also in a new Target commercial. With new hot song "We Are Never Getting Back Together" topping the charts, Swift doesn't have time to die at the young age of 22.

Swift joins a long list of other celebrities that have been killed off by social media and the internet recently. Tom Kenny, the voice behind SpongeBob Squarepants, legendary actor Morgan Freeman, Comedian Bill CosbyAlfonso Ribeiro aka Carlton from the Fresh Prince, and Bill Nye the Science Guy have all been victims of death hoaxes within the past few weeks. All of these famous men are just fine.
