The upcoming first-person shooter video game known as “Prey” is a reboot of the original game of the same name and is set to launch either in the first quarter or second quarter of 2017 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and Windows. The “Prey” timeline is set in an alternate universe where President John F. Kennedy was alive and managed to expand the space program.

“Prey 2” takes of control of Morgan Yu, the main protagonist, aboard Talos 1, a space station, in the year 2032 that orbits the moon. Morgan must battle his way against hostile aliens aboard the station. The game features a role-playing game element, which players can tweak the character’s attributes such as gender and skills. In order to progress the game, players need to do some resource management or collect weapons to overcome aliens.

According to gamenguide, “Prey” involves a potential threat around the space station and TranStar Corporation has something to do with it Likewise, players get to explore the space station once they have unlocked a specific attribute or Morgan becomes powerful enough to handle new threats, according to pcgamesn. The game increases its difficulty level as players progress through the game.

Although “Prey 2” has elements of survival, horror and RPG, the game leans more on the survival aspect because of the adversities that the main character has to encounter. The game is a re-imagination of the original Prey in 2006 with different characters and plot. Tommy, which is the original game’s protagonist, explores the environment in his spirit form to stop the Earth’s destruction. Basically, the original game is nothing like the upcoming game, which features a different timeline and a brand new story.

Once again, “Prey 2” will be released for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Windows in 2017. Check out the gameplay trailer below for more information about the upcoming game. Keep reading for more updates only in Traveler’s Today.
