The limited edition Super Mario 3DS was one of the most anticipated product on Black Friday sales. The handheld console, which came in either black or white, was sold for under $100 for the first time because of a Black Friday exclusive deal.

However, customers took note that the 3DS was available for pre-order on Amazon for about an hour on November 23, two days before the sale was supposed to kick off. Polygon adds that the 3DS officially went on sale on the 24th, and while some were able to purchase it, most were disappointed that it went on sale a day earlier than expected. One Amazon commenter even wrote: "Like so many others I am disappointed with the random release and was penalized for actually thinking I could buy one when I was supposed too,"

Another customer shared that he was excited to see a version of the 3DS that he could buy for his son at an affordable price, but when he logged onto the site, he noticed that it was already sold out and had been since yesterday. He added that he noticed multiple versions of the 3DS that were available through third-party accounts on Amazon for almost double the price.

According to Game N' Guide, other customers shared their thoughts on Nintendo forums and subreddits, stating that Amazon did not contact them that the sale would be moved to November 24. It seems that stock was replenished only during the two days prior Black Friday, but similar to Nintendo's recent sale of the NES Classic, it sold out within minutes.

The Nintendo 3DS deal was also available on other online retailers like Toys R Us, Walmart and Best Buy on Thursday. However, the complaints in general is about the pre-order and some scalpers that managed to have one or more Nintendo 3DS.

The good news is Amazon plans to restock the Nintendo 3DS and more gaming consoles will be available. Stay tuned for more news and updates about where you can get your own Nintendo 3DS online. For the mean time, watch the video below to know what the Nintendo 3DS looks like while unboxing it.
