The 'bully' just got bullied. Gigi Hadid has just experienced the wrath of President-elect Donald Trump fans and other people in social media, when she impersonated the future first lady Melania Trump during the American Music Awards on Sunday evening. The 21-year-old supermodel co-hosted the 2016 AMA's together with Jay Pharaoh. During the opening monologue of the annual event, Gigi plumped her lips and mimicked her speech that was reportedly plagiarized from Michelle Obama's speech topped with a fake Slovenian accent.

"I love my husband, President Barack Obama, and our children, Sasha and Malia," Gigi said as she mimicked the future first lady of the United States, according to The Huffington Post,  Gigi is not the only one who made an impersonation that night, her co-host Jay Pharaoh also made an impersonation of Jay Z. But why is it that the supermodel received negative feedback alone?

The said Melania Trump impersonation has got people ranting and venting out on Facebook and Twitter. People called Gigi Hadid a "bully," "racist," and some thinks the joke was rude, hateful and disrespectful as reported by USA TodayAmidst the negative responses and reactions the supermodel received on social media, Gigi posted a handwritten message on Twitter in return on Monday.

On her statement, Gigi Hadid said that she was honored to be part and to host the AMA's and to be able to work with some of the most respected writers. The Tommy Hilfiger designer also added that she changed the script and removed lines that she thought took the joke too far.

The supermodel also said that she has been mocked before too and still got the humor. Gigi expects that Melania Trump also understands and gets the humor out of her impersonation. "I believe Melania understands show business and the way shows are written and run," she said.

Jay Pharaoh also posted on Facebook defending the supermodel. He said that it was obvious that they did not bully Melania Trump during the AMA's. He also said they exaggerated the speech "where Melania CLEARLY PLAGIARIZED," cleared that they did not call Melania ugly and manish, or anything.
