The opening ceremony at the Olympics on Friday was a sight to see. As fireworks went off over Olympic Stadium, lighting up the London skyline, a disc-shaped object was caught on camera hovering above the stadium. Could it be a UFO? The video that has gone viral has extraterrestrial believers buzzing.

The UFO shaped object is seen entering the upper portion of the video and is dome shaped with a bulge rising from the center-like the cryptic photos and videos of UFOs that have been seen in mainstream media's past. The roving object moves slowly in the sky over the stadium as if watching the fireworks display below.

Former ministry of Defense UFO desk officer, Nick Pope, told PressTV that with a huge event like the Olympic Games in London, extraterrestrial beings could use this event as a way to reveal themselves to a large audience. "With the summer of mass events, we are all on high alert for terrorism. But we must also cast our eyes further afield and be prepared for even the most seemingly unfathomable."

Though the Goodyear Blimp has been hired to do aerial footage of the opening ceremony, it doesn't appear to be a blimp or a helicopter just by looking at its shape. The video was released by the Alien Disclosure Group UK.

Pope had also written earlier this year about the rumor that a fake alien attack would be staged at the London Olympics. This one could very well be a hoax, but there is no way to prove it. "A combination of special effects and holographic technology will be used to create the illusion of an alien invasion, the rumor claims," Pope said on TruTV.com.
