Tributes from colleagues and friends have circulated online after the news that comedian Kevin Meaney has died in his Forestburgh, New York home at the age of 60. Mary Ann Halford, Meaney's former wife, was the one who confirmed his death. However, she did not identify a cause.

Deadline describes him as a "veteran stand up comic, whose acting credits include numerous animated television series and the Tom Hanks film "Big" among others, and who also made dozens of appearances on late night television."

"So kind. So damn funny. So sorry for his loved ones for his loss," Bob Saget wrote on Twitter. Most of the tribute for Meaney honored the comedian as a nice person, and fellow comedian Saget was one of them. "Always thought Kevin Meaney was a brilliant comedian," said Patton Oswalt. "Then we hung out in Ireland and I found out he was also a terrific person."

Meaney was born in 1956, and started his comedy career in 1980. It was six years after the said year when he got his first HBO comedy special and debut on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson". He has also made a lot of appearances on late night television, namely: "The Late Show with David Letterman", "Oprah", "Regis" and "Kathy Lee", and "Conan" among many others.

He is also known for his catch phrase "That's not right!" Meaney's most notable film credit is in 1988's Big, and became a voice actor for several classic animated series such as "Dr. Katz", "Space Ghost Coast to Coast", "Garfield" and "Friends", "Rocko's Modern Life", and "Duckman". He was also featured on the NBC series "Ned & Stacey", and in 2010 gave his voice to the animated sequel "The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue".

Furthermore, The New York Times said that Meaney is survived by his mother; three brothers, Jack, Tim and Thomas; and a sister, Cathy Meaney Paulsen.
