In spite of increase in gas prices in the recent week, AAA has the prediction that lots of Americans are still going to travel by the road this Memorial Day to go on trips for the holiday. Unleaded gas in Massachusetts has reached about $2.25 each gallon on Monday. This was an increase in in eight cents as compared to the previous week's price, according to the AAA.

According to the AAA, prices that are as cheap as $2.11 and as expensive as $2.49 each gallon of gas for the regular fuel are available, as reported in Salemnews.com. Last February, gas prices averaged to about $1.70 each gallon in Massachusetts. Since that time, though, prices for gas have risen in past weeks.

Per analysis, though, the prices off gas has been still way less than the national average and 41 cents lesser than the $2.66 each gallon that is the usual value at the same week the previous year.

Mary Maguire, the AAA Northeast director in public and legislative affairs explained the situation further as she said:

"In spite of today's significant price spike at the pump, we're still looking at the lowest gas prices in 11 years headed into Memorial Day weekend. Take advantage of lower prices and plan a road trip."

AAA has approximated that about 844,000 Massachusetts residents would be travelling during the Memorial Day weekend. 786,000 of these residents would be travelling on the road in their vehicles.

Statistics have showed, though, that Americans have saved $18 billion on gas expenses as compared to the amount of money they have saved for gas in 2015, as reported in Salemnews.com, as well.

In Concord, though, the cheapest price of gas is estimated at $2.23 each gallon at the Concord Gas Station, as reported in Patch.com. Massachusetts residents can find more of the cheapest gas prices by looking them up in GasBuddy.com.
