A survey shows that one in three Australians think of themselves as better lovers when staying in a hotel. It has ranked itself as 7.5 out of 10 for their sexual prowess and averages on 28 minutes of sexy time when they are checked-in in a hotel room.

The survey is conducted by HotelTonight.

The survey also says that over 40 percent of Australians make love an average of 2.2 times more when they are in a hotel room.

New and exciting surroundings, no people around, and just being able to relax are listed to be the main reasons why their sex lives improve when they are not at home.

"This survey has really brought out the fifty shades in all of us around the world and made for some interesting reading. Ultimately though, the common factor here is that hotels allow people to leave their inhibitions at the door, enjoy the freedom and take time out to enjoy the finer things in life." said Regional Director for Asia Pacific Stefan Cordiner.

Meanwhile in Mexico, over 75 percent of the total number of people surveyed said that they are more sexually adventurous when in a hotel as well as spend an average of 49 minutes (the most minutes out of all nations!) of sexy time when checked-in.

The Spanish aren't as enthusiastic with averaging only 22.3 extra minutes. The Americans on the other hand are almost as high as Mexico, gaining 2.8 times more sex than usual just by being in a hotel.

Both Mexicans and Americans believe that they become more sexually adventurous in hotels whilst only 51 percent of Australians thought the same.
