A man from North Carolina who tried to join the ISIS pleads guilty over terrorism charges on Thursday.

Earlier reports already claim that the militant group of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria is trying to spread its force by recruiting more fighters to join them in performing their terrorist acts in the said countries. There are also reports suggesting that other foreign nationals are being attracted to joining the group of extremists. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, counterterrorism officials have already said that the rebels are trying to inspire its supporters in the U.S. and Europe to attack their own government or military force.

The 44 year-old man who was originally arrested for gun charge was held in custody after arriving at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Aug.2 from a Frankfurt, Germany flight. Being identified as Donald Ray Morgan, he admitted in an interview with NBC that he actually tried to travel to Syria with the hope of joining ISIS or ISIL.

Morgan reportedly lived in Lebanon before he was arrested. He also obviously showed his support for the terrorist group by posting pro-jihadist messages in social media. The terrorism charges were reportedly added to the man who tried to join ISIS on Thursday.

According to the officials from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, more individuals are now traveling to Syria with an attempt of being with the terrorist group. The group's ongoing operation has already killed many individuals, including civilians while thousands have been displaced from their homes because of the battle. With the terrorist group trying to spread its military force, the United States of America are also attempting to protect their citizens.

In an earlier report, Senator Ted Cruz passed a bill known as the Expatriate Terrorist Act which actually aims to revoke the citizenship of any Americans who will try to join the ISIS militants or any other terrorist groups.
