Massachusetts trooper cardboard license plate incident occurred Tuesday in Chicopee Mass. Even if it is supposed to be the Department of Motor Vehicle who should issue a driver's metal plate, a 20-year-old woman from Massachusetts still tried to make her own license plate, reports KPTV Fox News local on Sept. 3. The Massachusetts trooper cardboard license plate incident happened as the woman tried to fool the police with a hand-drawn license plate that appeared similar to a real one.

However, not only did she not realize that making one's own license is illegal, she apparently also did not know that State Police are trained to notice unusual things on the road.

Trooper Nicole Morrell was the state trooper involved in the Massachusetts trooper cardboard license plate incident on Sept. 3. According to The Examiner, she noticed the fake license had exactly the same colors and arrangement as a real Massachusetts license plate, the only thing missing was an inspection sticker.

The Associated Press reports that the letters and numbers of the driver's fake license plate were drawn crudely on a paper plate. They were apparently drawn with a red marker in a poor attempt to replicate a real Massachusetts license plate. The word "Massachusetts" and the phrase "The Spirit of America" were even written in the appropriate places in blue pen.

According to The Examiner, the Massachusetts State Trooper in the Massachusetts trooper cardboard license plate incident was from the Springfield barracks. Trooper Morrell was able to spot the counterfeit license plate while the driver was going down Interstate 391 in Chicopee during Tuesday's rush hour traffic.

Morrell pulled the 1991 Honda Accord around 7:30 a.m. to look closer at its license plate, which reportedly seemed odd. Morrell then realized that the license plate wasn't a newly designed one but a piece of cardboard done with numbers done in magic marker.

According to The New York Daily News, in the Massachusetts trooper cardboard license plate incident, the piece of "art" was "crudely drawn" and clearly a "poor replica" of a Massachusetts license plate.

The woman driving the vehicle with the fake license plate in the Massachusetts trooper cardboard license plate incident was identified as Johanna Baez-Rodriguez of Springfield.

Apparently, Rodriguez also had other driving violations that morning when she was pulled over.

According to Morrell, Rodriguez was also operating the vehicle with a suspended license and a revoked registration, apart from being involved in the Massachusetts trooper cardboard license plate incident.

Morrell made sure to mention that a cardboard license plate is not an appropriate license plate and illegal, even if Rodriguez had drawn her actual license plate number on the piece of work.

Rodriguez was charged with driving with a suspended license and attaching false plates, according to multiple reports.

CBS Botson reports that State police said on their Facebook page, "Moral of the story, if you shouldn't be driving, please don't."

Massachusetts trooper cardboard license plate incident also shows that when driving, drivers need a real license plate. Drivers can't just make one.
