Dogs can ease of a lot of anxiety; however, when traveling with them they can cause a lot of it. When you are able to plan a vacation that is also able to accommodate your precious pooch you for sure would want to take them. So here are some tips that will help ease the stress the next time you take your pup on vacation with you.

.)    Create a comfy atmosphere on the road: Bringing your dog on a road trip can be a very exciting experience for your dog, perhaps a little too exciting. Make sure if you take your dog on the road to bring their bed, or a travel sized one, and give them enough space (a whole row of seats or the back area) to be comfortable. Don't bring your dog on the road if you plan to only give them one seat.

.)    To medicate or not to medicate: This all depends on how your dog feels while traveling. If your dog gets mad motion sickness, save you both the trouble and find a good sleeping pill for your dog to take. If your dog is a calm traveler, definitely let them enjoy the ride.

.)    Bring things from home to make your dog feel at ease: When you arrive to your hotel room or condo or boat make sure to bring things from home to help ease your dog. The last thing you want is your dog feeling strange because they feel like you might be leaving them there.

.)    Plan activities with your dog: If you are going on vacation with your pet, you definitely should plan some fun activities with them. You don't just want to leave them stuck in a small hotel room all day. Hit up the local lake or dog park to show them some new fun territory.

.)    Bring lots of treats: Showing your dog what is appropriate in this new place you're staying is essential for having a hassle free trip. Use treats to reward them for having good behavior for going potty on the newspaper or staying close to you instead of running after everyone that walks by.
