Cindy Crawford pulls kids out of school after testing showed high amounts of polychlorinated biphenyls in several classrooms, according to the New York Daily News. Casamigos Tequila co-owner Rande Gerber's and Crawford's kids, Presley and Kaia, should reportedly have begun classes this week. But as Cindy Crawford pulls kids out of school, the kids' schooling might be put off a little while longer.

Cindy Crawford pulls kids out of school and her actions just prove the extent of her efforts when it comes to the health and safety of her children.

According to Us Magazine, the celeb kids missed their first day of school at Malibu High School. Apparently, it isn't only Malibu High which had the testing down, but other schools in the country as well, and testing revealed elevated levels of PCBs.

Routine soil tests were performed to find out if chemicals known as PCBs can be found in window caulking in the rooms. Apparently they did, and the results are way high, thus Cindy Crawford pulls kids out of school for fear of putting her kids in danger of contamination.

According to E! Online, the 48-year-old spoke with NBC News special correspondent Maria Shriver in a pre-taped "Today Show" interview on Tuesday after the tests showed alarming amounts of PCB in schools. The supermodel is very concerned for her children.

PCB, a chemical found in window caulkings of old buildings, was outlawed by Congress in 1979. When exposed, it can cause cause cancer to humans overtime, as well as damage to the immune and reproductive systems. It can also reportedly negatively impact brain development in children.

It appears that as Cindy Crawford pulls kids out of school, it isn't only the supermodel who opted to take matters into her own hands. Other parents have reportedly also decided to take their children out of at least two other high schools in the California city after testing finding high levels of the polychlorinated in the school buildings.

10 classrooms were tested from two Malibu schools, including the one Crawford's children attended. Four of these had PCB levels over the federal limit. Reports say that the school district is already planning to remove the caulking in those rooms and periodically monitor for air and dust.

At a rally Last week, Crawford offered to fund the PCB testing out of her own pocket. However, the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has spoken with the school district and they have agreed that the problem has already been handled.

So far, tests show no elevated levels of PCBS. However, Crawford has not been swayed.

Crawford said, 'I don't feel 100 percent safe. I'm very frustrated and I'm very disappointed at the way this has been handled.'

She added, 'The problem is, for me, that they haven't tested the source. Unless they're testing every day, how do I know that every day it's safe for my kid?'

She also said, 'I think that air testing and water testing are a great piece of the puzzle.'

The reason that Cindy Crawford pulls kids out of school even though the problem has already been deemed handled by the school district is that the supermodel has earned a scholarship to study chemical engineering at Northwestern University before she pursued modeling in the '80s, according to E! Online.

PCB levels can reportedly vary week to week, and their levels depend on conditions.

Crawford said in the interview, with her eyes welling with tears, 'I look 10 years down the line. What if my kid, God forbid, had a problem?'

She added, 'How could I live with myself if I knew that it was a possibility and I still sent them to school there?'

In the meantime, Malibu High School said it is ensuring its students' safety and health is their 'first priority.' The EPA also agreed when Malibu High School said 'Using federal EPA standards, our schools are safe for students and employees.'

To this Crawford argued, 'This is not a Malibu issue. This is really an issue in a lot of older schools. I just think the laws need to be changed.'

Cindy Crawford pulls kids out of school in her adamant fight against PCBs and the chemical's hazards to children in schools. Crawford also promised to continue spearheading the fight in favor of PCB testing.
