Katy Perry sued for Dark Horse recently occurred as rapper called "Flame" claims his and other musicians' song "Joyful Noise" was ripped off by the 29-year-old pop singer. Before becoming a worldwide sensation, Katy was once a Christian singer herself. Her Christian album was named "Katy Hudson", which also happens to be her real name. Now it seems her Christian roots are in want of Perry's attention. Grammy-winning Christian rapper "Flame" is part of the group of musicians which had Katy Perry sued for Dark Horse as she allegedly copied their 2008 hit.

According to The Independent, the group who sang "Joyful Noise" said Katy's 2013 hit "Dark Horse" has tainted their song "Joyful Noise" with what they termed as "black magic."

The musicians who had Katy Perry sued for Dark Horse are filed the lawsuit Tuesday. Rapper Flame (Marcus Gray), Chike Ojukwu, Emanuel Lambert and Grammy-winning rapper LeCrae (Lecrae Moore) had Katy Perry sued for Dark Horse and the lawsuit filed to the St. Louis federal court. According to rapper Flame, "Dark Horse" used the same melody and beat as his acclaimed religious track "Joyful Noise."

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the group filed the lawsuit against the pop star and Capitol Records.

Flame reportedly stated in the lawsuit which encompasses Katy Perry sued for Dark Horse that his song has been 'irreparably tarnished by its association with the witchcraft, paganism, black magic and Illuminati imagery evoked by the same music in 'Dark Horse''.

The New York Daily News reports that the suit, which had Katy Perry sued for Dark Horse, is claiming that Perry, Juicy J, producers Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and other associates have infringed the copyright and exploited and profited from the Christian rap song without permission.

The song "Joyful Noise" was reportedly featured on Flame's album "Our World: Redeemed". It was nominated for best rock or rap gospel album at the Grammys.

The St Louis Post-Dispatch meanwhile reports that lawyer Eric Kayira said that comparisons of the two tracks have already penetrated various websites before it has been Flame even knew it.

Since "Joyful Noise" producers Chike Ojukwu, Lecrae Moore and Emmanuel Lambert had Katy Perry sued for Dark Horse, they are also reportedly looking for a jury trial, a ban on Perry using the song and unspecified financial damages as well.

"Dark Horse" is sung from a witch-like deity's point of view. Currently, its Egyptian-themed music video has reached 440 million hits on YouTube.

This is not the only time that "Dark Horse" has caused trouble for Perry. In a situation akin to Katy Perry sued for Dark Horse, the video also sparked controversy in February when an estimated 60,000 people demanded a scene in the video removed. A Change.org petition was begun due to an allegedly offensive scene which portrayed a man wearing a pendant bearing the word "Allah" while standing in fire being burned by lightning through Perry's fingers. Thousands of people from the Muslim community reportedly claimed the scene blasphemous. The petition was successful and the "Dark Horse" video was edited replacing the pendent with a plain gold chain.

Katy Perry sued for Dark Horse seems to be unintentional though as the naturally-blonde beauty grew up in a religious Christian home with pastors for parents. Since her 2001 debut album "Katy Hudson" was released, Perry has detached herself from her religious roots and began singing mainstream songs.

She recently told Marie Claire last December, 'I don't believe in a heaven or a hell or an old man sitting on a throne. I believe in a higher power bigger than me because that keeps me accountable. I'm not Buddhist, I'm not Hindu, I'm not Christian but I still feel like I have a deep connection with God.'

Katy Perry sued for Dark Horse still has no comments from Perry's representatives.
