A new sushi restaurant called, The Sushi Bar, in Virginia made headlines this month when it announced that it would ban kids. The restaurant in Del Ray is not just banning little kids but anyone under the age of 18.

There have been mixed reviews over the children ban. One person wrote on the restaurant's Facebook page,  "This is a great Idea [sic] and I have 2 children. If I'm spending $15 to $20 an hour to pay someone to watch my kids I don't want to put up with others."

"I have seven kids. And I LOVE this idea of a kid free restaurant," wrote another according to ABC News.

Mike Anderson, owner of Sushi Bar said to Fox Five News, "We love kids. Just not at the sushi bar."

Him and his business partner, Bill Blackburn said that their restaurant should be a place for adults to go and relax.Anderson said to The Washington Post, "We ran it by some parents that had kids and I would say eight out of 10 thought it was a great idea. They said 'You're on to something here.'"

ABC News reported that other restuarants have also put a similar ban in play. A restaurant in Pittsburgh announced that they would stop serviing kids under six years old and Palo, which is a restaurant on some Disney Cruise Line ships only servies people 18 and up.

The Huffington Post reported that last year, Atlanta's Grant Central Pizza banned crying children. Their website said,  "Dear all present and future patrons: GCP is proud of its reputation as a family restaurant, a title that we will work to keep. Unfortunately a number of our diners have posted unpleasant experiences because of crying and unsupervised children. To ensure that all diners have an enjoyable lunch or dinner with us we respectfully ask that parents tend to their crying tots outside."
