When it comes to torture methods and cruel and unusual punishment, Dick Cheney has nothing on the New York Jets, under head coach Rex Ryan, who, still hasn't released Tim Tebow, even though he has no interest in giving him a legitimate chance to be the starting quarterback.

Coming off a 7-4 record and leading the Denver Broncos to a first-round playoff victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he now finds himself in a peculiar situation.

It is clear that the Ryan doesn't want him, but he is not trading him, nor is the head coach releasing him--ever hear of a lame duck? That is what Tebow is.

According to sportsworldreport.com, the Jets have been shopping the Heisman-Trophy-winning quarterback at Florida University around the NFL.

ESPN reports that "despite the fact that the Jets has signaled it wants to trade him or release him eventually, sources said that Tebow will attend the voluntary workouts that being on Monday of next week. Tebow originally signed a five year contract when he was drafted by the Broncos and his deal keeps him under contract with the Jets for two more seasons. The report says that although the team has been looking into trading Tebow, since there has been no imminent deals, the Jets may release him after the NFL draft.

Coming into the new season the Jets will have five quarterbacks: Mark Sanchez, David Garrard, Matt Simms, Greg McElroy and Tebow. Out of those five, only two or three will be on the season roster, but if history is a barometer of what is to come, Ryan will keep Tebow as the third QB and let him roar the sideline as his team's starting QB throws interception after interception and then runs into the rear-end of his offensive linesman.

It might be time for the "team-player," Tebow, to stand up, voice his opinion and demand a trade?
