Lisa Rinna recently talked about her infamous lips on the "Today" while sitting in for Kathie Lee Gifford. The Huffington Post reported that co-host Hoda Kotb surprised Rinna when she said, "Wait, can I ask about your lips?"

Rinna said in response:

"Here's the story: 25 years ago, I had my lips injected with silicone. Stupid thing to do at 24. I saw 'Beaches.' Remember that movie 'Beaches'? I did it with my best girlfriend, so she and I go and we get our lips done. Fine. I have it like that for my whole career, right? So then cut to a couple of years ago, I have a doctor remove as much as they possibly can because it got to the point where they were yucky. You know, they get hard. It's gross. They are now whatever that was after they took out as much of the silicone as they could."

Rinna is known for her voluptuous lips and says she has no regrets about the lip injections.

"I never had a career before I had the lips," she said to Hoda. "So my lips have had their own career."

Lisa and her husband Harry Hamlin recently started in a reality TV show called, "Harry Loves Lisa" which "focuses on the relationship between Lisa and Harry as they navigate through the highs and lows as a devoted family living a hectic Hollywood lifestyle," says her website lisarinna.com.

She's also written books. Her website says that she "released her second book, "Starlit" in September 2010. She delivers a revealing roman a clef about life on and off the red carpet. Filled with colorful characters, Hollywood insider details, scandalous backstabbing, and more than a few scenes - and villains - from Lisa's real life, "Starlit" combines the fun of "Days of Our Lives,"Melrose Place," and US Weekly into one titillating Hollywood drama."

Her TV credits include playing "Billie Reed, the free-spirited character she played on NBC's daytime hit "Days of Our Lives" throughout the 90′s and in 2002. Lisa also starred as "love-to-hate-her" Taylor McBride on Fox's long-running primetime smash, "Melrose Place"."
