Every year hundreds of furry friends come to Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City for the Westminster Dog Show. The hotel, located across the street from Madison Square Garden, is a hotel dog owners stay with their award-winning dogs during the show which happened on Feb. 11.

"The Hotel Pennsylvania is the heart and soul of the Westminster Dog Show," said dog breeder Judy Davis to ABC News. "Everyone knows they can congregate here and be welcome."

The show takes place at Madison Square Garden making it an ideal space for the pooches to sleep with their owners. ABC News reported that the hotel has a number of amenities for dogs including an indoor bathroom for pets where dogs can relieve themselves. The area is covered in straw and has red plastic fire hydrants for the complete experience.

"Recognized as the World's Most Pup-ular Hotel for the Dog Show, New York's Hotel Pennsylvania is pleased to be the host hotel for all canine hopefuls participating in this annual event. In fact, the hotel has earned the 2012 'Pet-Friendly Hotel of the Year' award for its pet-friendly services," says the hotel's website.

There is also a doggy day spa that has bathing and drying stations, dog treadmills and a Jacuzzi, reported ABC News.

"Our Dog Spa also features the Paw Mall, where guests will be able to receive a special pet reading via Annie Germani, pet psychic/ communicator," says the hotel's website.

Jerry Grymek is the Doggie Concierge all weekend and dedicated to greeting the dogs weekend long.

"I'm here to make sure all our guests - four legged and two legged - feel welcome and have everything they need," said Grymek to ABC News.

During Grymek's time as Doggie Concierge he's heard some outrageous requests. "One year a woman asked for an opera singer to serenade her dog before the show," said Grymek to ABC News. "Another year we had a request to roll out an actual red carpet for a dog when they arrived at a hotel so he would feel special."

The winner of Best in Show was a black affenpinscher named Banana Joe.

"He was presented in immaculate manner," said Judge Michale Dougherty to CBS. "He was on the minute he walked in ... He's in perfect condition, perfect body."
