Codename Neo, more popularly known as the "PlayStation 4 Pro," was announced September of 2016, and was launched two months after. The console has very good reviews, and gamers are enjoying it until now. With its 4K- and HDR signal which is compatible with high-end TVs, the "PlayStation 4 Pro" is a sure hit. Then came talks about a "PlayStation 5."

ValueWalk said that the "PS5" is expected to be released mid of next year. We have previously reported that the new console is already in the works and that the president of Sony's Worldwide Studios  Shuhei Yoshida said that the "PS5" is really just a question of "if" rather than "when."

The success of the "PlayStation 4 Pro" may cause a roadblock to "PS5." Some even say that because of this success, Sony may not release a new console until 2020. The current capabilities of the "PlayStation 4 Pro" may extend its lifecycle, but in less than two years, 4K TVs is going to be a norm, so expect Sony to up their game.

Gamers expect the "Playstation 5" hardware to be able to support 4K TVs and possibly even 8K TVs, Techradar said. The new console is also expected to take virtual reality to a whole new level. The resolution of the "Oculus Rift" and the "HTC Vive" is better than the "Playstation VR," so that should be a primary feature that Sony should look into. Experts also expect the "PS5" to be wireless.

Another thing that gamers have on their wish list is the support for external USB hard disks. When Sony Computer Entertainment President and CEO Andrew House talked about the decision to put hard disks and 8GB of RAM in the PS4, he said they were "billion-dollar decisions." Sony declined to support them, and though many are not hopeful that the "PS5" will different, it still does not hurt to continue hoping.
