The famous line from the cult 80's film "Princess Bride," " Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die," is one that fans around the world know by heart.

What is a funny quote for some, was found offensive to others, unfortunately for Qantas passenger Wynard Mullins. Mullins was wearing an Inigo Montoya t-shirt with the quote on it, was asked to take it off by airline staff.

Stuff.co.nz reported that some passengers on the flight were uneasy with the t-shirt's message, and perhaps, weren't familiar with the classic movie.

Before the flight took off Mullins was asked by a flight attendant if he could take the shirt off because some passengers found it intimidating. Mullins said to the National Business Review online, "I was wondering where they would find a shirt for me, being on a plane and all."

Stuff.co.nz reported that Mullins is from New Zealand and lives in Sydney. He had boarded the flight going to Auckland on Sunday when the flight attendant approached him.

He told Stuff.co.nz that he thought the reaction to the t-shirt was "a bit over the top."

"The flight attendant said to me: 'Are you able to remove it because some of the passengers are quite intimidated by it'. I thought it was all a bit silly. The person next to me was laughing, because they knew the movie," he added.

Mullins didn't have another t-shir to wear and the flight attendant left to find another t-shirt for him but never returned to broach the subject again.

"I wouldn't be surprised if they had someone watching me the whole time," he said to Stuff.co.nz.

A Qantas spokesperson said that they didn't have any record of the incident.

IMDB describes "The Princess Bride as "A classic fairy tale, with swordplay, giants, an evil prince, a beautiful princess, and yes, some kissing (as read by a kindly grandfather)." The movie was directed by Rob Reiner and starred  Cary Elwis and Robin Right. Mandy Patinkin, who know stars in the hit tv show, Homeland, played Inigo Montoya.
