The Australian singer Kylie Minogue won the legal battle against Kylie Jenner on Monday over the name trademark issue of their first names. It has been said that the US Patent and Trademark Office has rejected Jenner's claim. However, the reality star has already been planning for an appeal for her to use the brand name, "Kylie" for her growing fashion and cosmetic lines.

It was in 2015 when Jenner, 19, filed a US trademark application for the term "Kylie" which seeks for protection for her term in connection with the advertising services of her cosmetic lines. On the other hand, KDB, an Australian-based business which represents Minogue, 48, also filed for a notice of opposition to Jenner's application in February 2016, Entertainment Weekly reported.

With the recent court documents obtained, the approval of Jenner's application will have to confuse audiences and as well as dilute Minogue's brand. Further, the company also emphasized the fact that the Australian pop star also had owned a trademark registration using the name "Kylie" across entertainment services and music recordings. She even owned a trademark for "Kylie Minogue Darling" and has also owned "Kylie.com" since 1996.

According to Hello Magazine, the lengthy battle between the name issues has finally come to end although the case has been suspended at least twice in 2016. However, to add more twist to the story, reports also had shown that in mid-January Minogue's team withdrew its opposition which could have meant that Jenner's application could proceed. This also had the raise the possibility that the two could have been made an agreement for the settlement of the issue.

Meanwhile, KDB has been referring to Jenner as a secondary reality television personality who has just appeared to "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" as a supporting actress and who also shares controversial posts on the social media.
