This year is going to be great, especially for horror movie fans.  A lot of exciting horror movies is lined up for 2017. There are all sorts of scary movies this year, and we have rounded up some of them here.

Who has not heard about "Friday the 13th?" Jason Vorhees and his machete are going to make a comeback this year, Movie Web said. It is likely going to be a follow up to the new reboot, rather than using the previous series as a reference point. The movie will be released on October 13.the dark tower

"The Dark Tower" is expected to be a big hit, because big names are behind it. The film, which is set to be released in July, is based on Stephen King's adaptable narrative, and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" screenwriter Nikolaj Arcel will direct it, and do the script as well. Idris Elba will star as Roland Deschain, and Matthew McConaughey as Walter Padick.

The Verge reported that M. Night Shyamalan's "Split" is a scary movie to add to your movie list. This psychological horror stars James McAvoy, a mentally ill serial killer Kevin, who has a dozen personalities. The film was released on January 20.

"XX" is a film directed by promising directors Roxanne Benjamin, Sofia Carrillo, Karyn Kusama, St. Vincent and Jovanka Vuckovic. It premiered at Sundance, and it is a collection of nerve-rattling horror tales. Watch out for it on February 17.

"Rings" is the third feature length film in the American "Ring" franchise. The movie is set 13 years after the events of the first chapters of the franchise - "The Ring" and "The Ring Two." Release date is on February 3.

To those who were freaked out by the horrific doll, Annabelle, there is going to be a sequel to the film. "Annabelle 2" focuses on the story of a dollmaker and his wife, whose daughter died tragically twenty years ago. They decided to open their home to a nun and several orphanage girls, and the scary doll sets her sight on the children. Annabelle will make her comeback on August 11.
