The son of an actor father Jose Ferrer, he started in the industry in the 1980's with small roles on "Magnum, P.I.," "Cagney & Lacey" and "CHiPS." He was featured in "RoboCop," "Heartbreaker," "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock," and "The Man Who Wasn't There."
He also played various roles on "On The Air," "Broken Badges," and TV roles in "Bionic Woman," "Fallen Angels," "The Protector" and "LateLine" by Al Frankel. Miguel Ferrer had stayed long in "Crossing Jordan." "NCIS: Los Angeles" is his biggest project so far as per Yahoo.
Variety reported that after news of Miguel Ferrer death surfaced, an outpouring of sympathies and recollections flooded social media. The earliest to give his reaction was his cousin George Clooney.
The "Hail! Cesar" actor wrote, "Today history will mark giant changes in our world, and lost to most will be that on the same day Miguel Ferrer lost his battle to throat cancer. But not lost to his family." He added, Miguel made the world brighter and funnier and his passing is felt so deeply in our family that events of the day, even monumental events pale in comparison. We love you Miguel. We always will."
Many co-actors condoled with his family and shared their reactions on Twitter. Some of them felt that he was gone too soon. Others think that the industry has lost a valuable talent. Many just felt sad that they lost a good friend.
