The developer of what seems to be a tribute for "Mass Effect" and "Dead Space," "Dead Effect" recently got in the hotseat with its uncalled for message to online game review sites regarding negative game reviews. This backfired, causing fans and non-fans alike in thinking of the developer's feeble attempt at rising to the triple A ranks due to its review blacklist threats.

As Eurogamer have reported it, BadFly Interactive, the studio behind the recently released PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game "Dead Effect 2," gets some equally bad impression after threatening game review sites from having bad opinions about the game. Apparently, CEO and Co-founder Lubomir Dykast emailed the sites responsible for dishing out reviews, but with a little catch and it happens to be really unnecessary and rude, even.

COGConnected shared the experience it had after receiving the email directly from Dykast and while it sounded fine at the first few paragraphs of the message, stating the team's simple start to being a small studio incapable of releasing triple A games as of the moment. However, things went haywire in the latter part of the email as exactly shown;

"Also, we're working on several other games that are definitely interesting, and if your review or preview of Dead Effect 2 is very negative, you won't receive any keys from us in the future."

The message was rather clear. Giving "Dead Effect 2" a negative review will prevent any of the gaming site from getting access to any early access game keys in the future, effectively banning them for good under a review blacklist.

It didn't take that long before some BadFly representative got the news of what their CEO spread through the emails and immediately contacted COGconnected. Martin Pospisil specifically mentioned that "we screwed it."

The rep also mentioned that something about wanting the game to succeed, but it was also clear to them that the move was, indeed, uncalled for. BadFly certainly regrets the situation, reducing the chances of the game, actually reaching the team's goal due to a careless email, which caused them "Shitstorm" as they specifically quoted. Putting online game publications under review blacklist for honestly providing some real insights are twice as bad for the game rather than just getting them.
