For those who haven't heard, a "Titanfall" spinoff game was announced by Respawn Entertainment last year in September under the name "Titanfall: Frontline." However, the game happened to be canceled even before it was able to make a significant noise to reach out several fans.

The game was originally intended to be released for the iOS and Android, though as Slashgear have reported, the publisher and developer called it quits. At the time of writing, the working beta version is still going to be available, but it is scheduled to be shut down next week.

According to the official statement made by the game's official Facebook page, even after an incredible amount of experience gained from the beta version, the game wouldn't be able to continue being developed as it will not be on par with the original "Titanfall" game, which should be expected, but the cancellation is nothing short of surprising.

However, the publisher also hinted that there's a good possibility of another game with the same moniker to be worked out in the future. All the good concepts and ideas will be used for the next "Titanfall" game and hopefully, another mobile one.

Still, fans are hopeful of another iteration of the game in a different form and as Kotaku's report indicates. The partnership between Nexon and Particle City, which was also founded by one of Respawn's head honcho, is still effective.

Despite the beta version, "Titanfall: Frontline" was more than a decent card battle game and it was able to gain the approval of many players, fans and non-fans alike at the PlayStore and Appstore. It even managed to get a 3.5 out 5-star rating from the site, but download links are now removed. The game was initially released last year of September, though the original plan was to bring the full version of the game within 2016.
