Kim Burrell will no longer be invited to the show of Ellen DeGeneres. This was recently confirmed by the host on her twitter post, on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.

DeGeneres posted it on her Twitter account to answer questions whether or not Burrell will still grace the show on Thursday. It has been known that Burrell is a gospel singer and a pastor at the same time which just came from a homophobic sermon recently.

The gospel singer has been invited and is set to perform the "I See a Victory" on DeGeneres show and in which, this was also the track that she also contributed to the Hidden Figures soundtrack together with Pharrell Williams. However, it was due to her recent sermon in YouTube that was posted on December 30 wherein Burrell received a lot of criticism, EW reported.

She was delivering a sermon about homosexuality referring to it as "perverted" and "embarrassment" at Love & Liberty Fellowship Church in Houston where she was also a senior pastor. Due to the viral spread of the video, many fans urge DeGeneres to withdraw her invitation to Burrell, as per Yahoo news.

There were floods of tweets and a petition which reached about 5,500 supporters at Change.org. On the other hand, the Williams and some of Hidden Figures stars like Octavia Spencer and Janelle Monáe were supposed to appear and perform with Burrell in the DeGeneres show but also were also affected due to the video backlash.

Further, the senior pastor refused to apologize of what has been said although other stars denounced Burrell's comments on the sermon. She even defended herself and claimed that what she did was following what God tells her to do. And thus, she's going to make no excuses and apologies. The video has now been deleted after it went viral online.
