Huge celebrities like Britney Spears have great amounts of fame and fortune. However, they also have their fair share of shame and misfortune. Death hoaxes have become a trend among celebrities, but the public has no way of knowing whether it is true or not.

Recently, the 35-year old pop superstar is a victim to yet another celebrity death hoax. Sony Music's Twitter account posted "RIP @britneyspears #RIPBritney 1981-2016."

The twitter account then added that "Britney Spears is dead by accident! We will tell you more soon #RIPBritney". Some death hoaxes end with one single tweet or message, but this extra message made it more believable.

One thing that added to the level of possibility of Britney Spears' death was when Bob Dylan posted "Rest in peace @britneyspears." on his Twitter account. Later, it was found out that Bob Dylan's Twitter account was also hacked.

The hacker has gone to such great lengths to make the hoax look as believable as possible. Most fans were baffled and even thought that if Bob Dylan was also fooled, then maybe there is some truth to the matter.

However, it was later revealed that Bob Dylan's Twitter was also hacked. Both Bob Dylan and Britney Spears are under Sony Music, making it possible that the hackers hacked Sony Music itself.

Adam Leber then told CNN that "Britney is fine and well", officially dispelling the hoax. Adam Leber is Britney's manager, along with representatives from Sony Music have made actions to debunk the hoax.

Sony is pointing to the hacker group OurMine to be the culprit of the hacks. OurMine was the group that took credit for hacking Mark Zuckerberg's Twitter account.

This death hoax was a distasteful one as it came just a few hours after the announced death of George Michael. Death hoaxes are not new to superstars like Britney Spears, but hoaxes like these will keep coming.
