Microsoft is releasing Xbox Project Scorpio, despite the assessment that this is one of the gaming giant's premium products. Fans are in anticipation that following Xbox One S, this upgrade may just cost more or less $500.

Phil Spencer, Xbox executive is noted to have pegged Scorpio as a huge leap from the 4K and HDR ready Xbox One S and fueled speculations that it may cost similar to a high-end gaming PC instead of the usual £300-400. However, according to an interview with AusGamers through Daily Star reports, he wants Project Scorpio to be at a console price-point and further added that he does not wish to compete with other products of similar caliber in terms of prices, which means that overspending is anywhere beyond £400.

Spencer also addressed speculations that Project Scorpio might be Microsoft's counter release to Sony's PS4 Pro. As of now, Scorpio's confirmed specs are 320GB per second memory bandwidth, 8CPU Cores and 6 TFLOPs of performance, and a VR 4K Bluray display player, according to Tweak Town.

Meanwhile, this week marks three more addition to Microsoft's library of games with backward compatibility. Shadowrun, Space Ark and Shotest Shogi have been made available and as expected gamers approve of the titles. Xbox is now at a more than the 300-games milestone with recent additions of "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion", "Medal Of Honor Airborne", "Trine 2", "Astropop", "Injustice: Gods Among Us", and "Haunted House".

Xbox Games with Gold titles have a selection of free games this December 2016 such as "Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition", "Outlast", "Outland", "Burnout Paradise". But, remember that Games with Gold November 2016 will only be to be download until December 15. So make sure to get those free games!

Project Scorpio is to be released in 2017 and as fans' excitement alight; Phil Spencer himself predicted a good year for the company and Xbox. There is no doubt that gamers around the world agree with him.
