"Empire" Season 3 has been a rollercoaster ride for the show's fans. During the first half of the season, Rhonda was killed, Jamal was shot, Freda Gatz was sent to prison, Andre hooked up and Hakeem became a dad, not to mention the fights Lyons had and Jamal's almost overdose.

For episode 9, a video teaser was already released entitled "A Furnace for Your Foe," which shows Lucious who seems to turn himself into Tariq. A synopsis from TV Guide also features FBI freezing Empire Records' assets. The synopsis says FBI's move "has major repercussions."

Highlights of episode 7 include Cookie meeting Angelo's mother, Diane, and tried to impress her by throwing a fancy dinner, which did not go as planned. Cookie wanted to make up for the failed dinner by taking Diana to her favorite restaurant. She grew tired of the charade and decided to give Diana a concise synopsis of her family. Although Diana admires Cookie's internal fire, she warns her not to burn Angelo.

Episode 7 also shows Jamal high on pain pills, while Hakeem showed up with baby Bella, then Lucious and Anika stormed into Cookie's place looking for the baby. Episode 8 features more of Cookie and Angelo's relationship, and while things were heating up between the couple, Diane was warned about letting her son get involved with the Lyons.
